Christmas GreetingsSeasons Greetings everyone! I hope you all received the desires of your heart. We are enjoying a peaceful, quiet day, just relaxing after opening our gifts. Timmy is sleeping in the box my illuminated mirror came in. All I can see is his sleeping paw which is white tipped. He always stretches it out when napping. It is cold and rainy and very overcast - a good day for relaxing and I think that Timmy plans to spend the day doing so.
When we were opening our gifts this morning he did the cutest thing. He was sitting and watching us open presents when he suddenly remembered his stocking. You could almost see the light bulb go on over his head as he dashed halfway up the stairs were his stockling was hung on the banister. He pawed at it until he got his gift out and then, after sampling the contents, retired to the box.
We have been sampling Christmas cookies and I decided to share the recipe for one of our favorites with you. They are easy to make and oh so good!
CHRISTMAS BARK COOKIES
Set the oven at 400.
Line a jelly roll pan or cookie sheet with foil.
Place Krispy Saltine crackers side by side on sheet. Do not overlap.
Melt 2 sticks of butter or margerine in a saucepan.
Add 1 cup brown sugar and bring to a boil.
Lower heat and continue cooking, stirring constantly for 3 minutes.
Pour over saltines, covering completely.
Bake 5 minutes at 400 degrees.
Remove from oven and Sprinkle a 12 oz. bag of milk chocolate or semi sweet chocolate chips over all, spreading as they melt.
Top with 1 cup finely chopped nuts, such as almond slivers, walnuts, or pecans.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or more.
Peel off foil and break bark into jagged, bite-size pieces when ready to use.
Store in a sealed container.
These cookies make great gifts, packed in festive cookie tins.
ENJOY!

Those bark cookies sound yummy... maybe dad will make some.
Hoorah! You made your first post with barely any help! Those bark cookies are good Larry, we ate too many today!
WOW! You are a cool Grammie having your own bloggie! We don't think our Grammie has ever even touched a computer! We had our Great Grammie over for Christmas Eve. She is 96. She says cats make her nervous, so of course Scout made sure to do figure 8's around her ankles all night!!!
Love your profile picture with Timmy. I look forward to reading more about your adventures and about Timmy.
Thanks for visiting Eponine's blog and providing encouragement and support during. Her loss is tremendous for me, but I wouldn't exchange the companionship we shared for the world!
Take care. - Eponine's Cowboy
