Welcoming the Spring

Peaches and Pears (1888) by Paul Cézanne Aren't you glad the warmer weather is on it's way? I know I am! Here's a delightful recipe that I got from my good friend Jo. She's quite the cook herself! Every recipe that she makes tastes like it could be straight out of a gourmet recipe book! This recipe is simple, and delicious. A good way to welcome in the cool Spring days...to make it extra special, serve warm with ice cream on top.

Pear & Peach Crisp
2 1lb. cans peach &/or pear halves, drained (I use 1 each)
1/2 Cup rolled oats
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 Cup softened (not melted) butter

Arrange peaches &/or pears in lightly greased baking dish
In a seperate bowl, combine oats, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter to make crumbs
Spread this topping over the fruit and bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes

Easy as that!

Oh Oh. Mom read your recipe and now she's droolin like a d-o-g. I think that means she thinks it sounds yummy. We're glad to see spring too. Our Grandma opens the windows for us to sit and keep an eye on the yard and the birds and stuff. That's real fun. Hope you have a good springtime, Grammie!
