Fruitful Jello MoldThis recipe was given to me over 35 years ago by a dear friend. It is a special dessert that is impressive looking and wonderful tasting. It also serves a lot of people, making it perfect for holiday dinners. Make this up a day in advance since it needs to be refrigerated over night!
FRUITFUL JELLO MOLD
1 large pkg. Strawberry Jello (6 oz. size)
3 bananas, mashed
1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple
4 oz. walnuts, finely chopped (opt.)
2 packages frozen strawberries, thawed
24 oz. sour cream
1 cup boiling water
In a large mixing bowl, add jello powder to boiling water and mix well.
Allow to cool down and then add all ingredients except sour cream. (do not drain fruit.)
Note: I sometimes add an envelope of Knox gelatin to the jello mix if it seems too runny.
Stir well and pour 1/2 mixture into a 13 x 9 x 2" glass dish or large bowl of your choice.
Stir sour cream to soften and spread lightly over jello mix.
Pour and spread remaining half of jello mix over sour cream.
Cover with clear wrap and refrigerate over night.
Serves 12

I'm gonna get my Grandma to look at this receipt, Grammie. She loves jello thingies. I think they're kinda fun the way they wiggle too.
Oh dear. This reminds me of my Ant Irene who used to bring Jello molds to all the family get togethers. As a child I thought they were just plain wierd. sss's mom
